ServiceNow has agreed to acquire ITapp in an all‑cash transaction expected to close this month.
With this acquisition, ServiceNow expands the capabilities it offers customers to automate and manage the complexities associated with the use of public, private and hybrid clouds.
ITapp’s solution supports the management of cloud platforms used in the enterprise, such as VMware, Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and OpenStack. ServiceNow intends to make ITapp capabilities available on the ServiceNow platform by 2017.
"To address the proliferation of cloud‑based services, IT departments require a solution that provides visibility and control over how those services are being utilized across the enterprise,” said Sri Chandrashekar, VP and GM of IT Operations Management, ServiceNow. “ITapp will augment our existing cloud management solution, allowing customers to optimize their cloud ecosystem while ensuring compliance and security.”
“ITapp and ServiceNow share a vision to deliver self‑service, governance and automation across all functions in the enterprise,” said Brajesh Goyal, Co‑Founder and CEO of ITapp. “The combination of ServiceNow Cloud Management and ITapp will allow customers to deliver more of their enterprise services in the cloud by automatically spanning their private data centers and cloud service providers.”
