Boundary announced immediate availability of several significant new capabilities to its application and network monitoring solution.

Topping the list of new capabilities is the cloud-based capability that discovers and creates a visual representation of the logical application topology, and tracks changes to it in real-time. Modern IT applications are highly distributed and dynamic in nature, and operations/DevOps teams are finding it increasingly difficult to monitor and maintain those applications. Boundary helps to bridge that gap by replacing the “mental model” of the application topology with the “actual model.”

Layered on top of the application topology, Boundary highlights another new capability: the latency or response time between the different tiers of an application. This additional new capability is essential to ensure that both performance and cost are optimized across the application and that changes to the application code or the environment does not have negative effects.

Boundary has also announced:

- Pre-defined integration for both EC2 and Rackspace Cloud where any status or alerts from those Cloud providers can be annotated into the Boundary data.

- A universal RSS integration capability enabling any RSS status or alert to be annotated into the Boundary data. This capability is available today to integrate alerts from New Relic, Splunk, Papertrail and others.

- A big data store that will enable customers to define longer periods of historical data that they wish to keep.

"There’s never been a better time for businesses to capitalize on new technology to enter new markets, compete more effectively, and serve their customers better—with the added benefit of decreasing infrastructure costs,” said Gary Read, Boundary President and CEO. “But business leaders must be prepared to embrace a new way to monitor and manage their IT services where the rate of change is exponentially greater and the impact of even small changes can be huge. That’s what makes Boundary’s ability to dynamically discover and visualize the application topology from the network so incredibly valuable.”

Boundary Releases Free Version

Boundary also announced immediate availability of a free option for its groundbreaking application performance monitoring solution.

Boundary’s free solution is exactly the same as the paid offering, restricted only by the amount of data received and stored.

Boundary provides users with a highly visual representation of their application topology and performance with unprecedented granularity and speed. The free version of Boundary includes all of the latest product features and capabilities listed above.

“Since we launched Boundary in March, we’ve experienced an incredible response from our passionate and growing base of users and customers,” said Boundary CEO Gary Read. “We’re launching Boundary free so that we can introduce even more people to our revolutionary approach to Application & Network Monitoring that is setting the standard for the future.”
