Logentries announced an integration with the Microsoft Office 365 Management Activity API that enables Office 365 administrators to better manage their systems, user behavior and security activity.
Logentries real-time log management and analytics service offers customers the ability to easily stream events from their Office 365 environment into their Logentries account for usage monitoring, security notifications, data visualizations and alerting on user behavior.
“The new Office 365 Management Activity API provide customers with greater transparency and insight into actions taken on their content in Office 365,” said Nagesh Pabbisetty, Partner Group Program Manager, Application Services Group, Microsoft. “By tapping into this data stream, Logentries provides customers with the ability to visualize the data, detect anomalies, and generally strengthen their security.”
The Logentries and Office 365 integration provides users with out-of-the-box search queries, tags, alerts and data visualizations to support easy analysis of product usage, abnormal user behavior, and other security risks including:
- Visualized correlation between SharePoint and Active Directory log data
- Alerts when mail-forwarded rules are created
- Count charts displaying volume of files shared externally, by user
- Notifications and visualization of sign-in failures by user, IP and geography
Microsoft Administrators can set-up automated alerts for specific events they want to track as they occur to fully understand who is doing what across their systems and applications.
“The integration allows Office 365 administrators to quickly understand system and user behavior from a security, compliance or operations perspective, creating valuable insight and time-savings when something important needs to be investigated,” said Trevor Parsons, Chief Scientist at Logentries.
