As EMEA Field CTO for ControlUp, Townsend’s primary role is to interface with customers, partners and ControlUp’s own sales, marketing and development teams to help both ControlUp and its customers navigate through an ever-transforming market. Having spent 5 years prior to joining ControlUp as IGEL’s Chief Marketing Officer and with 20 years’ experience in the end-user computing market, Townsend has helped manage marketing, product marketing, product management and Global Systems Engineering for several enterprise software companies. Prior to IGEL, he was at Ivanti where he was Chief Technologist and a member of the Office of the CTO. He is also a frequent industry speaker, author and visionary on industry topics related to endpoint security, VDI, Citrix, Windows and DaaS. He holds a bachelor’s degree in IT and business.
