ManageEngine Supports Multiple Business Units with Private Social Network

ManageEngine announced the support for multiple domains in ITPulse, the industry's first private social network built exclusively for IT teams.

Now, the IT team at one business unit can collaborate with the IT teams at other business units on a single wall that offers a cascading, real-time display of IT infrastructure health and collaboration.

When IT organizations span multiple business units, the resulting fragmentation and isolation can interfere with knowledge and skills transfer as each IT team focuses on its own business unit. In turn, each team is left to "reinvent the wheel" when solving issues and challenges that have already been addressed by other teams in the company. The new multi-domain support in ITPulse ensures that all IT teams have access to a common wall, enabling them to easily share knowledge and discuss IT issues, projects, and capacity planning.

"ITPulse originally restricted sign-ups to just one domain as a security consideration," said Dev Anand, director of product management at ManageEngine. "However, that single domain support meant large enterprises had no way of bringing in business units with different email IDs onto a single social networking platform. We've enhanced ITPulse to solve this problem by enabling administrators to define and accept sign-ups from different email domains across their business units."

Apart from adding the IT team at various business units, ITPulse now enables the local IT team to also add IT consultants, vendors and service providers. This helps the IT team to stay in touch and engage in discussion with such people who matter to their IT - from anywhere, anytime.

By integrating ITPulse with IT management tools from ManageEngine as well as from BMC, CA, HP, IBM and other vendors, IT teams can achieve powerful automations that streamline IT collaboration in problem prevention and resolution. User actions and IT performance data can be immediately and automatically posted on the ITPulse wall - a much faster and more reliable process than email or telephone communications.
