ScienceLogic has become a certified technology partner in Dell’s Technology Partner Program, providing support for Dell’s PowerEdge 12th generation servers systems management consoles.
This new instrumentation is geared toward high performing servers and data centers that need compute performance, scalability, and “lights-out” operations necessary for successful enterprise-class private cloud deployments.
ScienceLogic is one of the first vendors certified for embedded management on Dell PowerEdge 12th generation servers using the iDRAC7 with Lifecycle Controller and OpenManage Server Agent (OMSA) technology.
This new release extends existing Dell monitoring and management capabilities, providing customers data center visibility with agentless and out-of-band management remediation. This is particularly helpful in instances where a system’s power is off, there is a disk failure, or when internal RAID storage is degraded.
“By monitoring Dell’s PowerEdge 12th generation servers with iDRAC 7 capability through the ScienceLogic console, we have been able to gain an insightful view of a server’s performance, hardware specification, and local environmental factors,” said Nick Isherwood, Technology Services Director of ScienceLogic’s customer, JMC IT. “The information available to us is a real efficiency benefit when it comes to managing hardware-related issues. We are also able to alert based on changes to temperature or power input which helps us to keep a close eye on external issues which could ultimately impact availability.”
“The new ScienceLogic support for Dell PowerEdge 12th generation servers is for Dell customers who need at-a-glance knowledge and out-of-band management for their infrastructure,” said ScienceLogic Senior Vice President of Engineering, David Hinnant. “We will continue to explore opportunities with Dell to enhance proficiencies while making Smarter IT for our customers who deploy Dell’s latest technologies.”
