Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) released its latest research report: Application Performance Management (APM) in the Age of Hybrid Cloud: Ten Key Findings.
This report is based on research criteria defined by EMA Research Director, Application Management, Julie Craig.
The data is both broad and deep. It examines design and usage patterns, management techniques, and management products used for supporting both public Cloud-delivered and on-premise services. It also includes data on hybrid Cloud usage, “wish list” products, and the realities of DevOps.
As applications start to span on-premise and public Cloud, many companies are reconsidering their application management tools and strategies.
In this new research, Craig examined the opinions of more than 150 IT professionals who provided key insight on today’s key APM questions, including:
- What are the top concerns of today’s IT professionals, from CIOs and Managers to “hands on” staff?
- What are the most pressing challenges they face as they embrace public Cloud and hybrid on- and off- premise services?
- What types of APM products are they currently using to manage public Cloud and on-premise services, and what are their preferred “wish list” products?
- Which APM-centric features are the “most wanted” and what does this mean in terms of product investments?
“The use of public Cloud to deliver enterprise applications is now early mainstream. As companies increasingly turn to Cloud delivery options, and as they integrate on-premise applications to public Cloud, application management becomes a progressively more complex challenge,” said Craig. “This research reveals details about the ways IT professionals are currently managing on-premise, Cloud, and hybrid Cloud applications and transactions. It also reveals their opinions and product preferences as to the ways in which these services SHOULD be managed in the future.”
