BMC Software introduced additional capabilities integrated into its BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution that proactively ensure the service quality of cloud services and avoid many of the risks of cloud computing such as outages, performance and capacity issues, while simplifying cloud administration.

BMC provides enterprises and service providers with the cloud operations capabilities required to support the day-to-day business of running a cloud and meet the expectations of cloud users. Taking a preventative approach, BMC helps avoid cloud failures through the smart management of performance and capacity issues. The BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution ensures that, on the first day, cloud services are provisioned and placed according to configurable policy. Once provisioned, on “Day 2” and beyond, BMC’s cloud operations solutions ensure the performance of cloud services consistently meet expectations.

To accomplish this, BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management is integrated with the BMC Capacity Optimization solution and the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management product. These capabilities combined with BMC End User Experience Management provide proactive performance and capacity management from the end user experience to the underlying infrastructure across flexible, highly dynamic public, private, and hybrid clouds.

The addition of cloud operations capabilities allows IT organizations to meet and exceed user expectations by:

* Avoiding outages and degradations in service quality

* Optimizing investments in infrastructure

* Maintaining or reducing cloud administrative headcount

“The calamitous impacts of recent public cloud failures proves definitively that building a cloud is only the first step in a cloud journey,” says Kia Behnia, BMC’s CTO. “Managing the ongoing operations of a ‘hybrid’ cloud including proactive service planning, monitoring and governance to avoid potential failures represents the critical other half of the story and BMC is leading the market in a holistic approach to successful private and hybrid cloud projects.”

Along with these new cloud operations capabilities, BMC is also releasing a Cloud Rapid Deployment service delivered by BMC Global Services. This service allows users to quickly implement the BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management solution in as little as 45 days. This implementation lays the foundation for a well-managed private or public cloud, and can be coupled with broader BMC Global Services offerings for cloud planning and operations.

BMC’s cloud management solutions have been used by more than 400 organizations globally including enterprises, public agencies and service providers.
