APCON announced a company strategy to deliver an integrated virtual network monitoring capability in the first half of 2015. APCON expects this development to significantly enhance the monitoring of network traffic by accessing traffic across virtual environments.

By combining access to all network traffic visibility into a single product line, APCON’s solution will mitigate the risks and challenges faced by customers in today’s convergence of physical, virtual and SDN-driven networks.

“I am excited to launch this virtual network monitoring initiative. Our strategy is to provide a fully integrated, scalable and complete network visibility architecture for customers,” said Richard Rauch, President and CEO of APCON. “Adding virtual traffic monitoring to our proven intelligent monitoring systems will provide enterprises with a holistic visibility solution well beyond anything network managers have seen for today’s converged networks.”

“The rapid growth of virtualized computing infrastructure is creating new challenges for network and security managers. Server virtualization brought along with it a new wave of network virtualization, which in turn created pockets of blindness,” said Jim Frey, VP of Research at Enterprise Management Associates. “Monitoring fabrics must embrace and accommodate this new barrier if they are to provide the necessary levels of visibility.”

Leveraging existing hardware and management platforms, APCON has outlined a detailed roadmap for developing new virtual monitoring solutions driven by innovation and industry standards to meet customer requirements. Its initial product is on track to be released in the first half of 2015, followed by a series of solutions to monitor any network and any type of traffic.
