APCON announced enhancements to its IntellaFlex XR firmware.
With this latest firmware release, IntellaFlex XR users have a wider range of protocol stripping options to remove the encapsulation layer from the data packet and ensure compatibility with their network and application performance or network security analysis tools. The addition of VLAN Tag-based filtering capability increases tool utilization and efficiency.
“With the growth of traffic and proliferation of different protocols running across a network, businesses of all sizes are facing new challenges. They are looking to maintain 100 percent traffic visibility while protecting their tool investments,” said Richard Rauch, president and CEO of APCON. “APCON is committed to providing rich features enabling our customers to monitor and secure their networks with existing tools as networks become more complex.”
To ensure compatibility with traffic analysis tools and maximize performance, APCON’s network monitoring switches support a wide range of protocol stripping that removes additional layers of packet encapsulation. With the addition of VLAN Q-in-Q, VXLAN and GPRS Tunneling Protocol (GTP) stripping, existing tools can monitor a wider range of more complex network environments.
The addition of VLAN Tag-based filtering enables APCON customers to target specific VLAN traffic for analysis, reducing the amount of traffic sent to analysis tools. APCON’s VLAN filtering capability now enables more granular filter proficiency with the addition of VLAN Tag filtering, using the 802.1Q VLAN Tag Protocol Identifier (TPID).
APCON’s IntellaFlex XR v5.05.1 firmware release is available immediately for download by customers, and will be included on future shipped products. APCON customers can update their software and firmware on their current IntellaFlex XR systems with the latest features through the APCON support site.
