SmartBear Software released a new plugin for Ready! API that allows users to import APIs from developer portals managed by CA Technologies to test and virtualize RESTful and SOAP services.
CA API Management delivers cross-functional benefit across a variety of users including the developer building the apps, the business executive who owns the new business service and enterprise architect responsible for managing and securing the API.
“CA has been at the forefront of API Management for many years and their expertise in this space is unparalleled,” said Lorinda Brandon, Director of API Partner Development at SmartBear. “The integration with Ready! API is a marriage between two leading technologies that benefits API providers and consumers alike, whether you are using SOAP or REST APIs.”
Ready! API is a fully integrated, extensible and affordable platform to help development, testing and operations teams deliver reliable, scalable and secure APIs. Its plugin architecture makes extending the tool fast and easy. The plugin framework uses annotation-based extension points instead of XML configuration files and provides automatic installation of any third-party dependencies. Ready! API offers a plugin browser so Ready! API users are able to find and install plugins quickly and easily.
“The CA API Developer Portal lets enterprises transform their closed business into an open, agile enterprise by providing a central platform that allows API owners to securely expose and manage their APIs, while giving developers the tools and resources they need to quickly build apps against them,” said Dana Crane, Senior Product Manager at CA Technologies. “SoapUI has long been a key testing tool for many of our customers. With the Ready! API plugin, customers have a more streamlined experience and the opportunity to expand their usage of SmartBear's Ready! API testing platform.”
Ready! API is an end-to-end API readiness platform with tools for testing and virtualizing APIs. Ready! API has various application modules available including SoapUI NG Pro, the next generation of SmartBear’s SoapUI for testing all Web services, including REST and SOAP APIs as well as the ServiceV Pro module for creating, managing and sharing virtualized assets.
