New Relic announced the New Relic Software Analytics Cloud will deliver the power of analytics to customers, enabling users of all of its products to see an extended set of critical, granular event data from their web, mobile, and backend applications.

The company also announced new features that embed powerful analytics capabilities directly into New Relic’s product suite, which are designed to allow customers to quickly and easily get answers to questions about their application performance, customer experience, and business success.

The New Relic Software Analytics Cloud, powered by New Relic Insights, now enables organizations to query their data in either a curated or ad hoc fashion. For predictable queries that provide visibility into your software, the company is delivering curated experiences directly within New Relic products. To perform ad hoc, deeper investigations into an issue, often within a few clicks users can uncover the root cause through a new, interactive New Relic Insights interface.

“Great software requires constant iteration, and should be driven by real-time data about that software. New Relic is reinventing the application performance monitoring market by embedding analytics throughout every part of our product line, delivering what we see as unprecedented analytical speed, scale, and dimensionality,” said Lew Cirne, CEO and Founder, New Relic. “NRDB, the powerful database behind New Relic Insights, is designed to enable us to collect lossless data from millions of software events every second, and enable companies to run queries against giant data sets to uncover new insights about their applications, their users, and their business. We no longer have to settle for aggregated data. We believe this marks a huge step forward for data nerds everywhere who use software to power their business.”

New capabilities and offerings announced today include:

● Eight days of event data enabling organizations to get a better understanding of their production software through lossless data. This new, expanded data set will be made available to all paying Pro and Enterprise customers starting December 1, 2015. NRDB is designed to access all of the event data across every user transaction, in real-time, so customers can instantly query against any dimension of their software data. Customers who want to gain greater visibility into longer time horizons, get deeper insights into trends, and identify new opportunities, can purchase longer periods of rolling data.

● Error Analytics enables developers and operations teams to segment and rank backend error data, in a curated view directly within New Relic APM, across a range of dimensions, including company, frequency, error type, and other attributes. For example, companies can view which errors impact their most important customers, and prioritize their development efforts accordingly.

● Geo Analytics offers a curated view in New Relic Browser, enabling developers, application owners, and operations teams to better understand how web user experience varies across geography, whether by country, state, city, or zip/postal code. Combined with new PageView events around network performance and browser type, Geo Analytics is designed to allow companies to be able to easily segment which of their customers are having a poor web experience, and use that information to focus their remediation efforts.

● New, visual Data Explorer enables organizations to dissect software analytics data across multiple dimensions within New Relic Insights, without requiring queries written in NRQL (New Relic Query Language). Data Explorer is designed to deliver an intuitive point and click interface, allowing users to easily run powerful ad hoc queries using the power of NRDB.

About New Relic Software Analytics Cloud: A multi-tenant, integrated Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform, the New Relic Software Analytics Cloud is designed to enable companies to understand every customer's experience at a granular level across a vast range of dimensions. Dimensions can be related to performance (timing, errors, crash), user experience (sessions, interactions, pageviews), business outcomes (SKUs, revenue, customer ID), geography (country, zip code, ISP), or even customer-added attributes. Underpinning the New Relic Software Analytics Cloud to make sense of this massive amount of data is NRDB, which is designed to process more than two million events per second. As part of New Relic’s scalable cloud-based architecture, NRDB provides companies a powerful analytics engine, without organizations having to invest the time and expense to build and maintain their own.

All paying New Relic Pro and Enterprise customers will have access to eight days of trailing event data to analyze and benchmark their application performance with New Relic Insights beginning December 1, 2015.

Error Analytics and Geo Analytics are now available in private beta. The new Data Explorer is generally available beginning today to all paying Pro and Enterprise customers.
