AppNeta released significant new product enhancements to the company’s performance monitoring platform.
Built for the cloud and SaaS-focused modern enterprise, AppNeta Performance Manager now includes an entirely new suite of physical and virtual monitoring points that easily scale from the largest data centers to the smallest remote offices.
This release also provides native support for the Azure Cloud and IBM Cloud platforms, automatic BGP analysis, active DNS monitoring, and optimization for SD-WAN deployments in the remote office.
AppNeta’s SaaS-based platform provides actionable visibility into the network performance and associated end-user experience of business-critical applications. AppNeta supports all modern application deployment architectures including hybrid or public cloud, SaaS-based, and private data centers. Over 1,100 AppNeta customers leverage the platform’s real-time monitoring and end-to-end path, packet, flow, and URL HTTP/S data types. AppNeta also offers polling granularity of 15 seconds with historical data retention for up to one year.

- A full range of performance analysis modes including path, packet, flow, and web from a single monitoring point
- Multiple connectivity options for both wireless and wired networks
- Capacity scaling from full line-rate analysis rates of 1 Gbps to 100 Gbps to accommodate even the most intense resource demands from the smallest remote office to the data center
- Centralized management and deployment options to allow auto-deployment and auto-configuration monitoring at scale with the existing RESTful API’s further extended to permit faster and deeper integration with upstream platforms
This release vastly extends AppNeta’s existing DNS capabilities by introducing the ability to monitor all DNS servers and associated lookups, even in modern clustered DNS architecture. Response times and timeouts are now trended to better understand the DNS-related impact on end-user experience.
Further, BGP-derived insights will be alongside existing path information to automatically understand and monitor WAN routing and carrier ownership. All AppNeta deployments will include both BGP and DNS capabilities at no additional cost. Enhanced DNS monitoring is available this month with the new BGP insights coming in November.
The adoption of SD-WAN in the remote office is accelerating, adding further complication to end-to-end performance visibility. AppNeta’s new suite of monitoring points will enable large enterprises to contextualize application performance across all their locations before, during, and after SD-WAN rollout. The new monitoring points will support complex SD-WAN deployments easily with increased capacity for multiple concurrent network connections and additional deep packet inspection processing capabilities for real-time application intelligence.
