ScienceLogic, a provider of IT operations and cloud management software, has opened an office in Austin, Texas. At 6,000 square feet, the office will serve as the company’s marketing and sales hub.

This is ScienceLogic’s first office in the US outside of its Reston VA headquarters.

“Austin has a wealth of talent and expertise in network, systems, and application management software that makes it an ideal location for ScienceLogic to expand into, especially with the pro-business climate in Texas,” said David Link, ScienceLogic CEO. “We’ve made a significant investment in personnel over the last year and a half to drive growth, and many of those new hires are based in Austin, including our marketing and sales leadership. We will continue to seek top local talent to fill new roles within the business.”

ScienceLogic announced in June that it had hired Austin-based management software veterans Steve Harriman as Sr. VP of Marketing and Scott Sherwood as Sr. VP of Sales. Both executives were instrumental in the growth of Austin-based network performance management company NetQoS, which was acquired by CA Technologies in September 2009. The majority of the company’s marketing team, as well as its inside sales team, is based in Austin.

In addition, Chris Cordray, ScienceLogic Co-Founder and Chief Scientist, and Fred Johannessen, Executive VP of Business Development for ScienceLogic and former BMC Software executive, are based in Austin.
