Thales announced the launch of CipherTrust, a new monitoring and management platform allowing network operations teams to receive 24 x7 visibility on the operational status of all hardware security modules (HSMs) across all locations.
Thales HSMs can now be monitored and remotely managed in a similar way to general IT equipment in data centers, keeping operations staff fully informed while helping them pro-actively respond to potential security or performance issues using complementary Thales HSM management tools. The result is a dramatic reduction in operating costs to monitor HSMs providing users with an effective tool in helping to maintain the security and operational efficiency of their complete HSM infrastructure for their data protection requirements.
News facts:
- Provides 24 x 7 visibility on all HSMs
- Identifies performance bottlenecks to improve capacity planning
- Facilitates pro-active HSM management responses to potential issues through automatic alerts
- Reduces costs through background remote operation without human intervention
- Works seamlessly with existing HSM hardware and software configurations
Cindy Provin, President Thales e-Security Inc., said: “Data security is a top concern for enterprises and governments. The need for data protection is mandatory. As IT security systems become more complex with the need of deploying multiple layers of data protection the effects from a disruption caused by network downtime are great. Operations staff need tools that automatically deliver information about potential issues. CipherTrust delivers visibility across groups of Thales HSMs in multiple locations, allowing operations to monitor alerts and warnings and proactively respond to issues both now or on the horizon.’
The first release of CipherTrust provides monitoring for payShield HSMs. Future versions will support additional Thales products including the Thales nShield multi-purpose HSM family.
