Precise Software Solutions announced the appointment of John R. Vitalie as Chief Executive Officer. Vitalie assumes the position of CEO effective immediately and will also serve as a member of Precise's Board of Directors.

"We are very excited to have John at the helm of Precise," said Rob Amen, principal at Vector Capital and a Precise Board member. "We have accomplished a tremendous amount since the spinout from Symantec four years ago. I am confident that John will continue to build upon our product leadership and accelerate growth, innovation and expansion into new markets, taking Precise to the next level."

Vitalie brings over twenty years of executive and sales leadership to Precise, including his most recent role as the President and CEO of Encover, Inc. a leading provider of technology and services for managing, marketing and selling service contracts and software subscriptions. Prior to Encover, Vitalie held executive sales and management positions in high profile Silicon Valley companies including Siebel Systems, The NASDAQ OMX Stock Market and ADAC Labs.

"Precise earned its reputation as a pioneer in creating advanced technology for managing transaction performance across the enterprise," said Vitalie. "Today, Precise is poised for rapid growth as more companies look for better ways to extend their capabilities to the Cloud and to scale their application, storage and network performance. I am confident we will continue to capitalize on our experience of working with over 1,500 customers, including many of the Global 2000, to provide the next generation of leading TPM solutions to the global marketplace."
