Keysight Technologies announced Cloud Sensor vTap, a new feature of CloudLens from Ixia, a Keysight Business.

Cloud Sensor vTap enables organizations to better manage their security risk in private and hybrid cloud environments, such as Microsoft Azure Stack, with comprehensive visibility into East-West traffic without requiring hypervisor access.

“Private cloud environments, in which access to the underlying hypervisor platform and virtual switches is not possible, present unique visibility challenges,” said Scott Register, VP of Product Management at Keysight’s Ixia Solutions Group. “Organizations have a limited view of virtualized network traffic which creates network blind spots for virtual or physical datacenter security, monitoring, and analytics tools. Cloud Sensor vTap delivers the visibility needed into incoming and outgoing traffic from a particular virtual workload, significantly improving overall security of private and hybrid cloud environments.”

Ixia CloudLens, with the new Cloud Sensor vTap, is a comprehensive visibility solution for virtual network traffic in private clouds, offering customers visibility into their east/west network traffic in environments where the administrator has no hypervisor access -- to virtually tap (vTap) or capture, filter and forward a copy network traffic directly to either tools or a network packet broker. CloudLens also includes a new management platform for sensors, the CloudLens Sensor Management Platform (CSMP). Coupled with the CloudLens Manager for integrated and easy management, sensors can be deployed on premises, even in security tight environments without Internet access.
