Reveille Software announced the issuance of a patent from the US Patent & Trademark Office involving collecting data, aggregating and then delivering ECM management information.

“Reveille Collectors securely access cloud ECM environments without firewall changes or VPN connectivity to provide organizations with insight into their ECM applications’ performance,” said Robert Estes, CEO of Reveille Software. “This deep visibility into their applications’ health directly impacts customer satisfaction and ensures revenue-generating applications are running at optimal levels.”

By deploying Reveille and the patented Reveille Collector technology in on-premise, cloud or hybrid-cloud ECM environments, organizations can centrally manage the performance of dispersed repositories to quickly remediate problems and provide optimal end-user experience.

The Reveille Collector is beneficial for distributed ECM environments where network latency or firewall rules prevent synchronous data collection. Requiring a minimal footprint on a single server, the Reveille Collector gathers management data from many servers and securely transmits it to the Reveille Platform for evaluation against SLA thresholds. Reveille can then initiate notifications and deliver ECM management information via dashboards and management-level reports.

“As organizations increasingly move their ECM applications to cloud or hybrid-cloud deployments, the need for application management increases to ensure they not only are delivering on their agreed service levels but also receiving those service levels from their providers,” continued Estes. “Reveille supports this with a model – both in its deployment and economics – that is easy to use and maintain, and can scale as business needs expand.”

The Reveille Collectors are bi-directional – delivering management data sets to the Reveille Platform and also accepting configuration updates – to reduce total cost of ownership and simplify maintenance.

Reveille provides ECM application management solutions for a multitude of repository and capture applications, including EMC Documentum, EMC Captiva, EMC InfoArchive, EMC Document Sciences xPression, IBM Content Manager, IBM FileNet P8, Kofax, and Microsoft SharePoint. Reveille’s purpose-built application consoles filter the monitored data sets into meaningful information for the specific ECM application.

The U.S. patent, No. 8,959,051, for “Offloading Collection of Application Monitoring Data,” covers the collection and storage of management data from a number of sources, and delivery of data packages to an attended data recipient in a manner that is asynchronous to the collection of the ECM data.
